METRO ETTIQUATES
I am a daily traveller who enjoying the world class facility of delhi metro for my to and fro journey.Because I was new for delhi and came here from slow, cool and calm city,I was in doubt for my comfort and adjustment with delhites fast moving life where I have already seen people running beyond buses.Undoubetedly,Metro gave me a sigh of relief in this regard.
The one thing on which I want to comment here may hurt to delhites, but it is true that I (befor coming to delhi) thought that delhites are educated, and thus civilized too while I experienced its absense here.
In metro I see people(including youths) sitting on the seats reserved for ladies, old and physically handicapped people, while they stand nearby their reserved seats.I became happy when I saw some gentlemen leave their sets morally while some after asking a lady for her seat. Its really good to catch your right.
I again frustate to see young guys and gals (mostly couples) who behave in uncivilized vulgar way publically. You love, its ok but you should keep in mind that you are travelling publically and people around you feel shame on your behaviour.I dont know where the Indian civilization and culture lost? Is our family values, moral education, respect and culture are so small that these can be lost only on wearing western dresses and eating pizzas? Are we unable to become a person of modern thoughts and technology with a tuning of our customs, culture and values?
Whatever the reason may be,I think,Metro authorities should come forward with and flash awareness campaigning with the help of other organisation for some announcements on civilization, culture and ettiquates.Alongwith this, there is a need to stick the new plates on reserved seats:'' If you are a women, please sit here.'' and ''If you are old or handicapped, please sit here.''.Other innovations also possible. It may happen that Metro travellers became learn a lesson of moral values and ettiquates, after all they are delhites.
