Though the name itself describes the virtue of this article, I would like to make it clear that the grip of corruption is so strong that even its campaigners are not away.
In the present scenario of the IAC campaign, which was primarily launched for Jan Lokpal and ended dramatically, the core members of team may be seen fighting before public stage.
The campaign and its members who were ‘’together’’ to fight for a cause are now fighting individually for their own.
Anna, the Gandhian (so called) was already dedicated for social causes. However it was heard that he used to punish the persons in his village during his campaign against alcohol. He never opposed death penalty. Though it doesn’t mean that there is any effort to damage his reputation, rather it is just to tell that these tools of this Gandhian is unmatched with Gandhian thoughts.
Prashant ji is famous for his arguments in courts and his PILs. His consultation fee is good (not less). He has already been beaten for his remarks over Kashmir and its contradiction with Anna’s thoughts. He also demanded mercy for Afzal, which is again in contradiction of Anna’s remark to hang Afzal publicly. He is well known advocate and son of former law minister who is already facing a charge in CD case. It was also said that consultation fee of his father was approx 50 lacs per hearing in a case. However we are still unaware about contribution of this rich family to society through any mean, such as free consultations to poor, economic supports to people or anything else.
Kiran Bedi, former IPS officer, who hurled the India Flag on stage of Ramleela Maidan and thus tried to connect their demand with patriotism, just to create public dedication. She shouted slogans of Vande Matram, Bharat mata ki Jai etc. Now it is heard that she is involved in case of corruption of overcharging her hosts for airfares.
Arvind Kejriwal, who became actively involved for campaign against congress just after the janlokpal campaign, has resigned from his service and have not completed formalities regarding NOCs and dues. Now he paid the dues after it became highlight through government agencies and media. It is also heard that he diverted some donations to an NGO run by him during the janlokpal campaign.
Corruption is undoubtedly a bad habit in present society. However what we see in corruption is just an economical part. Can we handle all corruption just by making transparent transaction? Surely not. Corruption should be seen with all aspects. If you promise something to someone and you don’t follow, its also a form of corruption. Telling lie as a general practice is also a form of corruption. But it is true that all forms of corruption cannot be measured and cannot be regulated by rules. More interestingly, these immeasurable things actually lead the way of measurable corruption and thus need a control. Unfortunately, these controls cannot be grouped and framed but it doesn’t mean that there is no way. The real way is just to follow moral education system, a better atmosphere to children at home, habit of truth and honesty everywhere for everything.
I pray that real voices should reach towards hearts of people from the heart of people. Can we hope from all that they can take oath for not participating in any type of corruption in their life? Can anybody think that corruption may be removed from all these levels? Can anybody think that they all have moral rights and grounds to fight against corruption? Can we hope that all will not pay bribe in the form of donation to schools/colleges for admission of their wards? Can we imagine that all will deny buying any black ticket of film or of journey? Can we hope that all students who are participating will become rigid that they will not be involved in cheating in their exams? Can we hope that tenders will be passed without commission? Can we hope that funds will be utilized by NGOs in real manner? Can we hope that teachers will be involved in fair practice of teaching only? Many other questions are unanswered.
The real reform is still waiting, but it will surely not be a magical stick. Instead it will be a process which will take shape gradually. It will be a reform of minds and reform of administrative systems. Corruption can not be removed immediately, neither by lokpal nor by any other bill. But surely it may be prevented through administrative tools like proper education, automation, vigilance and through public participation like moral teachings. People of India need it and this reform is the only important part of the time.
With all these cases it is clear that no one is out of grip of corruption; neither those who are fighting against corruption, nor those against whom the fight is on, nor those who are supporting the fight of both sides and the isolated people. Corruption is everywhere, only its form is changed from people to people. It can be said APKA (yours) corruption.
